Physician leaders often encounter incredibly complex challenges in their roles that they either believe they should have all the answers to, or believe others have that expectation of them.  

Many of these leaders find themselves ruminating on decisions made, judgments of those around them and the fear of continuing to risk their credibility and values while leading their teams through the ambiguous uncertainty of the current health care marketplace.

When the high emotional exhaustion of their current state is exacerbated by the stresses of regulating their emotions amidst constant stress-inducing triggers, many highly competent and beautifully instinctive physician leaders step back and check out.  This is one of the only coping mechanisms they have been given. However, leaving their leadership role or the medical industry is rarely the outcome they land on once they have the clarity they need.

This Mayo study demonstrated almost a 30% decline in high emotional exhaustion, just the beginning of all the potential effectiveness of coaching that can be realized for physicians.
